Pre-Orders | Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do Pre-Orders work?

You can pre-order games from Game Ship by adding them to your cart and checking out. You'll be charged the full amount upfront, including delivery. We will dispatch your pre-ordered item on or 1-2 business days prior to the official release date.

Will I get my pre-ordered game on the release date?

We dispatch pre-ordered games on or 1-2 business days prior to the official release date, depending on stock availability through our suppliers. This is due to strict release guidelines in place by the distributors. Depending on the shipping option you choose, and if there are any delays in shipping, this may mean that your game arrives on, or slightly after the release date.

What are the delivery options?

If you want to receive the game as fast as possible, we recommend choosing the express post option. This option typically arrives 1-3 business days after dispatch (subject to the carrier and any other delays).

Alternatively, if you're not in a rush to play, you can choose one of the standard shipping options, which takes around 2-9 business days.

Can I buy pre-order games at the same time as in-stock games?

Yes, you can - however depending on the shipping options you need, it may be better to place two separate orders.

If you are ordering a pre-order item at the same time as in-stock items, we will hold all items in your order until the pre-order item is also available to ship.

If you would like the in-stock items sent separately, please submit them as a separate order.

Can I cancel my pre-order?

If you need to cancel your order, please get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss your options. You can email us at info@gameship.com.au.

What does "TBA" mean on the release date of pre-order games?

For some games, the distributors have not provided a specific release date. We continue to check the release date schedules of our pre-order games, and will update them once it has been confirmed. You can still order the game, without the release date being published.

Why is there a pre-order cut-off date?

We place a cut-off date on some pre-orders to allow sufficient time for us to ensure stock availability on the release date. From time to time, we may place additional orders of some stock, so if you miss the cut-off date, please contact us to see if we can arrange an extra copy. If you order before the cut-off date, we guarantee stock will be allocated to you. If the pre-order title you are purchasing does not have a cut-off date listed, you can still order the game, but we cannot guarantee that you'll receive your item on release day.
